Magdalene Vohs
Magdalene Sophia Vohs, 94, of New Knoxville, Ohio, was welcomed home at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015, by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born on September 20, 1921, in New Knoxville, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Soerhoff) Warner, who preceded her to their eternal home. On April 25, 1948, she married Leonard Vohs, who went home to be with his Lord on August 9, 2002.
Magdalene shared her love, Christian faith, and life with her longtime friends and caregivers Steve and Georgeann Stienecker of New Knoxville; nephews Terry (Becky) Huston of New Knoxville; and Robert (Navada) Schroer of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded into her Lord's loving arms by her brother Alvin (Alice) Warner; her sister, Viola Schroer; sister-in-law Norman (Ollie) Schnelle.
She loved to cook and bake. She was a meticulous housewife who enjoyed helping her husband with the dairy and hog farming. She was often seen mowing several acres of lawn well into her nineties.
She liked doing word puzzles. Listening to Christian radio, and especially the Sunday church service of First Church of New Knoxville, and watching Christian television programs were favorite pastimes. She enjoyed going to Senior Citizen's meals and bus tours. She was a member of several card clubs and enjoyed visiting with friends.
Magdalene was a life member of the First Church of New Knoxville, where she faithfully attended church, Sunday school, and Bible study. She was also a member of the "Lunch Bunch Bible Study" of First English Lutheran Church of Wapakoneta.
Funeral rites will be held 3:30 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Reverend Beth Ernest and the Reverend Steve Nelson, officiants. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
