Edward Bushman
Edward A. Bushman, 78, Columbus and formerly of New Bremen, died in the early morning hours of Feb. 24, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 11, 1936, on the family farm near New Knoxville, the son of the late William G. and Pauline (Egbert) Bushman. On June 19, 1983, he married Aurora Catalan, who survives in Columbus.
Also surviving are his children, Cindy Philpot, Kim (Glenn) Taflan and Scott (Donna) Bushman, all of Westerville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Enola (Wilbur) Greber; and a sister-in-law, Betty Bushman, both of New Bremen.
Deceased are a daughter, Sandra Bushman; a brother, William Bushman Jr.; and a sister, Laverta Price.
Edward was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. He was engaged in farming for most of his life and also had his own produce stand and tackle shop business. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting various items. He also enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing; woodworking; and tinkering in his spare time.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
