Jeffrey Boley
Jeffrey Allen Boley, 56, Nashville, Ind., and formerly of St. Marys, passed away the morning of Jan. 12, 2015, in his home surrounded by love. He had been battling leptomeningeal melanoma the past year.
He was born to James C. and Jean Boley. His father is deceased and his mother survives. He was married for 30 years to Rhea Ellen Miller, who survives in Bowling Green, Ky.
Also surviving are two children, Casey (Leah Hervey) Boley, 29, and Lacey Boley, 26; a sister, Deborah Webster; and two brothers, Dennis Boley and Michael Boley.
He was originally from St. Marys and graduated in 1976 from Memorial High School. He then attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., where he met his loving wife, both of whom are graduates of Butler's school of pharmacy. He began his career at Labrico's Pharmacy in Broad Ripple, Ind. He then became part owner of Albany Rexall Drugs in Albany, Ind., before moving to Brown County in 1986. He was a well-known pharmacist at the local Nashville, Ind., CVS for 28 years.
He loved spending time in the company of his family and friends while boating, traveling abroad, sightseeing and watching football. He was an inspiring mentor to countless adolescents while pursuing his passion of coaching junior high wrestling and football for the Brown County School system for 10 years.
He was an integral part of the community as a prominent member of Nashville United Methodist Church, a chairman of the Brown County Board of Health and active board member of Brown County's soup kitchen, Mother's Cupboard. He was deeply committed to the fund-raising process of building the much-needed new home for the soup kitchen.
He would not want anyone to worry about him and would say he's "just peachy" water skiing in heaven.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Nashville United Methodist Church, Nashville, Ind. Graveside services will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
Calling is 3-8 pm Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
All are encouraged to bring copies of favorite pictures of Jeff to the church to be used in a memory display.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be marked as "Jeff Boley-Helping Hands" and given to Project Helping Hands in care of Brown County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 191, Nashville, IN 47448.
