Rick McMiller
On June 19, 2014, hearts were broken as Rick McMiller, 63, a devoted husband and adoring father, passed from this life on to the next.
He was born July 12, 1950, to Richard and Betty McMiller, who survive. In June 1969, he married Darla McMiller, who also survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Greg) Garfield and Carmen (Damon Walker) McMiller; five grandchildren, Wyatt, Ellie and Lucy Garfield and Jesse and Joey Walker; two brothers, Bob (Kathy) McMiller and Scott (Julie) McMiller; sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Deceased is a brother, Tom McMiller.
He was proud to be a retired ironworker and member of locals 290 (Dayton) and 481 (Dallas), but felt his greatest accomplishment was the family he built. The unwavering love he had for his wife and two daughters was only rivaled by his feelings for the five grandchildren that followed.
As morning was his favorite time of day, a memorial service will be held 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. A celebration of life will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Condolences may be expressed through www.zecharbailey.com.
