* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Sylvia Engel
Sylvia L. Engel, 88, St. Marys, died at 8:07 p.m. May 5, 2014, at St. Marys Living Center, with her children at her bedside.
She was born April 20, 1926, in St Marys, to Raymond and Leila Jacoby Haseker. On Oct. 8, 1947, she married Donald L. Engel at St. Paul's E & R Church in St. Marys, and he died Dec. 5, 2010.
Survivors include a son, Randolph (Jill) Engel, Celina; a daughter, Adele (Gerald Freewalt) Fast, St. Marys; two grandsons, Dr. Trenton (Bridget) Engel, Denver, Colo., and Eric Fast, Orlando, Fla.; three stepgrandchildren, Kyle Menchofer, Celina, Kami (Brandon) Wilson, Newport, N.C., and Ann (Sam) Li, Celina; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Alexis Engel; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Charli and Tavian Wilson and Ethan, Carter and Myah Li; and a sister, Doris (David) Lawrence, Toledo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Haseker
She was a 1944 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and Frederick's Beauty Academy in Lima. A licensed hairdresser, she operated Sylvia's Beauty Shop in St. Marys for 43 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and its women's guild, Hawthorne Chapter 119 Order of the Eastern Star, Northwest Ohio Hairdressers' Assoc. and National Cosmetology Assoc. Her favorite pastimes were reading and playing cards.
Funeral rites will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
