* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Effie Varvel
Effie E. Varvel, 75, Coldwater, died April 20, 2014, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born April 18, 1939, in Chattanooga, to Jesse and Nancy Stoll Fifer.
Surviving are her second husband, Harry Varvel; a son, Joe (Stacy) Schwieterman, Coldwater; a daughter, Ellen (Gerald) Heitbrink, Coldwater; five stepchildren; Tom Varvel, Sharon Adams, Connie Allread, Sandy Comer and Steve Varvel, all of Greenville; two grandsons, Anthony and Bryan Schwieterman; 12 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Hugh (Ruth) Fifer, Convoy, June Laux, Fort Recovery, and Dale (Sierra) Fifer, Convoy; a sister-in-law, Sally Fifer, Defiance; and a brother-in-law, Eugene (Bonnie) Schwieterman, New Bremen.
Deceased are her first husband, Donald Schwieterman, in 1989; a grandson, Ron Schwieterman; and five siblings, James Fifer, Marlene (Bob) Presho, Andrew Fifer, John Fifer and Jim Fifer.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and graduated from Wright State University. She had worked at the former Huffy Plant in Celina.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
