* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Gwendolyn Burd
Gwendolyn V. Burd, 90, St. Marys, died at 12:01 p.m. April 20, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 10, 1924, in St. Marys, to Russell H. and Mabel M. Parke Young Sr. On April 10, 1948, in Decatur, Ind., she married Harry L. Burd Sr., who died Dec. 1, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Gwen Sharp, St. Marys, and Lynne Taylor, St. Marys; a son, Scott (Jessica Williams) Burd, St. Marys; a stepdaughter, Judy Burd, Atlanta, Ga.; a stepson, Harry Burd Jr., St. Marys; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lahoma Frederick, Eastover, S.C., and Laura Lee Bricker, Greenville; and a brother, Russell Young, Van Wert.
Also deceased are a daughter, Jan Grooms; a stepson, Clayton Eugene Burd; three sisters, Delores Knapp, Marcedis Miller and Koneta Young; and three brothers, James Young, Paul Young and Ronald Young.
She was a 1941 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She was a homemaker. In her younger years, she had worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Crane & McMahon Co. Spoke Works, both in St. Marys.
Her favorite pastimes included making crafts, solving crossword puzzles, tending to her plants and flowers and spending time with her loving and supportive family.
Rites are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home West Chapel, St. Marys, Brian Boatright officiating.
Calling is 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
