Rosemary R. Meinerding
Rosemary R. Meinerding, 79, formerly of Mendon and St. Marys, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, following an extended illness.
She was born May 18, 1934, in Coldwater, to Joseph and Emma (Reigelsperger) Weiss.
On April 4, 1951, in Coldwater, she married August J. Meinerding, who died May 10, 2000.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Connie) Meinerding of St. Marys, John (Mary) Meinerding of Celina and Michael (Arliss) Meinerding of Mendon; three daughters, Jane (Lanford) Combs of Lima, Karen (John) Bertke of Celina and Anna Stein of Celina; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Weis of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Huber and Angie Koverman, and three brothers, Norbert Weis, Rolland Weis and Andrew Weis.
She was a retired production employee at the Huffy Bicycle Manufacturing plant in Celina.
She was a former member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Rockford and a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie #767 auxiliary in St. Marys.
She volunteered countless hours for the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. Her favorite pastimes included quilting, crocheting, fishing and playing bingo. She also enjoyed spending many winters in Florida with her late husband.
Services are noon Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, West Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
