* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:40 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall slowly this afternoon, falling below flood stage later this evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Stanley Shellabarger
Stanley M. Shellabarger, 92, Rockford, died at 7:40 a.m. Sept. 5, 2012, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Brookville, to Ray and Arkana Crouch Shellabarger. On Nov. 9, 1945, he married Louise Rowland, who survives in Rockford.
Also surviving are four sons, Rodney (Dorene) Shellabarger, Van Wert, Craig (Barb) Shellabarger, Celina, Randy (Colleen) Shellabarger, Rockford, and Mike (Angie) Shellabarger, Middlepoint; one brother, Wayne (Martha) Shellabarger, Mendon; two sisters, Francis (Frank) Stoner, Celina, and Vivian Hodge, Celina; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Shellabarger, Celina.
Deceased are two brothers, John and Lowell Shellabarger, and one sister, Evelyn Spees.
He graduated from Neptune High School and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He attended the former Rockford Presbyterian Church, where he had been deacon and elder. He then attended New Horizons Community Church, Rockford. He retired as a Standard Oil distributor in 1985 and had worked at the Paul Dudgeon Seed House in Rockford. He was a member of Rockford American Legion Post 508 and Shane's Lodge No. 377 F&AM, a coach for the Rockford Recreation Little League and a founding member of the Rockford Recreation Association.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Rev. Marvin Schwartz officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Rockford Recreation Association or New Horizons Community Church.
