MERCER COUNTY - Conservative lenders may be stifling the growth of area businesses.
Mercer County Economic Development Director Jared Ebbing said half of the six applications filed this year by businesses for revolving loans were dropped after joint funding from private lenders fell through.
Mercer and Auglaize counties are among 87 of Ohio's 88 counties that have been designated agricultural natural disaster areas by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
