Rita Braun
Sr. Rita Braun, RGS, 87, died March 11, 2011, in Fort Thomas, Ky.
She was born May 23, 1923, in Philothea, to Henry and Elizabeth Knapke Braun.
Surviving are three sisters, Irene (Charles) Frey, St. Marys, Freida Kuhn, Rockford, Joan (Art) Turnwald, Fort Jennings.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, Kenny Kuhn.
She entered the convent in Carthage, in Cincinnati, on May 4, 1949, and was given the name Sister Joan of Arc. She made her first vows on Nov. 21, 1951 and her perpetual vows Nov. 21, 1954. She was a cook, teacher's aide, and did child care and home care for elderly. She had ministries in Detroit, Mich., Louisville, Ky., Grand Rapids, Mich., Cincinnati and Cleveland. She joined the Good Shepherd Pelletier Community in 2004 to continue her ministry of service.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Pelletier Hall in Fort Thomas. Burial is at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.
