Clifford Meyer
Clifford L. Meyer, 73, Newport, died May 19, 2010, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Dayton, to Julius and Louise Fiely Meyer. On April 7, 1956, he married Charlene A. Pleiman Meyer, who survives in Newport.
Also surviving are six children, Eric (Bernadette) Meyer, Houston, Connie (Mike) Monnin, Russia, Karen (John) Shardo, Versailles, Keith (Barb) Meyer, Russia, Teresa (Jim) Hemmelgarn, Sidney, Andy (Linda) Meyer, Russia; a brother, Adolph (Joan) Meyer, Newport, a sister, Shirley (Harold) Balster, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Linda Meyer, New Bremen; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Philip Meyer, two sisters, Marilyn Caprara and Carolyn Boerger; and three brothers, William, Delbert and Robert Meyer.
He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Newport, where he served as an usher. He was a retired owner and founder of Triple "M" Feeds in Russia. He was a member of Russia Knights of Columbus, the Catholic War Veterans of Russia, the Newport Sportsman Club, and the Versailles Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
