Victor Moeder
Victor Moeder, 79, 2811 Burkettsville-St. Henry Road, St. Henry, died at 7:35 a.m. Feb. 22, 2010, at Mercer Health, Coldwater.
He was born Oct. 15, 1930, in St. Henry to Julius and Anna Winkeljohn Moeder. On Nov. 26, 1955, he married Rose Mary Clune, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Rose) Moeder, St. Henry; and David (Deb) Moeder, Coldwater; four daughters, Ann (Terry) Schroyer, Coldwater; Linda (Ed) Wellman, Trinity, Ind.; Janice Arling, North Star; and Sharon (Brian) Spears, Madison, Ind.; four brothers, Norbert (Roberta) Moeder, Dayton, Richard Moeder, St. Henry; Jerry (Marilyn) Moeder, Englewood; and Lee (Jeanette) Moeder, Maria Stein; three sisters, Marcella (Al) Larger, Dayton; Ruth (Fred) Krebs, Orlando, Fla., and Rose Ann (Roger) Siefring, Philothea; three sisters-in-law, Vivian Clune, St. Henry; Jane Clune, Coldwater, and Donna (Don) Bowerman, Minster; and 24 grandchildren.
Deceased are three sisters, Mary Moeder, Rita Jones and Sr. Mary Julian Moeder; a brother, Charles Moeder; three brothers-in-law, Paul Jones, Lewis Clune and Paul Clune; and a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Clune.
He was a farmer, a retired maintenance supervisor for St. Henry Schools, a bus driver and worked at Franck's Plumbing and Heating in St. Henry. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and its Battalion Color Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Henry American Legion and a former commander and Sergeant at Arms, and a former commander of the Mercer County American Legion. He served on the Granville Township Zoning Commission, was a St. Henry FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer and a charter member of the St. Henry branch of the Mercer County Ambulance Service. He represented the St. Marys Deanery Council on the Cincinnati Archdiocese Pastoral Council and was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church and its parish council. He also was a member of the Mercer County Elks the Heritage Club in St. Henry.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with full military rites.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
