Edgar McElroy
Edgar E. McElroy, 69, of Bedford, Ind., died at 2 a.m. May 29, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Celina to Ralph and Mary Rupert McElroy. On April 18, 1964, he married Esther Muhlenkamp, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Bruce (Rebecca) McElroy, Greenwood, Ind.; a daughter, Angela (Don) Schneider, Waverly, Ill.; three sisters, Betty Bowersock, St. Marys, Mary Lou (Melvin) Schumann, Botkins, Jerilyn Temple, Celina; and four grandchildren.
Deceased are six brothers, Robert E., William E., Henry, Leo, Ralph E. Jr. and Walter Lee McElroy; and a sister, Patricia Swineford.
He retired from the U.S. Army in 1980 and from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Ind., as a programmer analyst in 1995. He attended Mount Pleasant Christian Church. He was a past member of the American Legion, Bedford, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a 1958 graduate of Celina High School and graduated in 1982 from Vincennes University.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, the Revs. Jeff Hudelson and Fred Barger officiating. He was cremated.
Calling is 9 a.m. Monday until time of service.
