Fr. Paul Link, C.PP.S., 78, died at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, on May 27, 2009.

He was born March 4, 1931, in Coldwater to Aloysius and Caroline Anthony Link.

Survivors are a brother, Fr. Mark Link, S.J., Chicago; and three sisters, Rose Mary Schmit, Marshall, Mich., Sr. Carolyn Link, C.PP.S., Dayton, and Gertrude (Don) Kiley, Ormond Beach, Fla.

Deceased are a brother and his wife, Anthony and Jane Link, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Schmit.

He entered the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1949 and was ordained on June 10, 1961. He ministered for many years in California. In 1978, he was named chaplain of the Sonoma State Hospital in Sonoma. He was elected provincial director of the Province of the Pacific of the C.PP.S. in 1982. After two terms he returned to parish ministry, having ministered at St. Mary's Institute in O'Fallon, Mo., from 1996 until his retirement in 2000. Since then he made his home at St. Charles Center. In addition to his ministries, he was an author and community historian.

Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, the Rev. Angelo Anthony, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial is at the community cemetery.

Calling is 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
