Gregory Bennett
Gregory Edward Bennett, 63, 549 E. Fulton St., Celina, died at 5:40 p.m. March 8, 2009, at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born June 10, 1945, in St. Marys, to Dwight and Louise Rosener Bennett. His mother is deceased and his father resides in Mendon. On Oct. 23, 1965, he married Mary Rodriguez, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Michael (Mandy) Bennett, Rockford; three brothers, Fred (Judy) Bennett, Port Isabel, Texas, Joe (Karen) Bennett, Celina, and Randy (Cindy) Bennett, Celina; two sisters, Cathy Bruns, Celina, and Jane Patterson, Lima; and two grandchildren.
He retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, St. Marys, after 33 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, and a graduate of Celina High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War in 1966-67. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both in Celina.
A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Celina American Legion, the Rev. Robert Cochran officiating. His body has been donated to the University of Toledo College of Medicine.
