Scattered snow showers can be expected this morning along with westerly winds gusting to around 40 mph at times. Temperatures will continue to fall this morning, with readings dropping well below freezing.
Snow accumulations will be a half inch or less. This will result in some slick spots on untreated surfaces as well as bridges and overpasses. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination this morning. Be prepared for changing road conditions as well as gusty winds.

An arctic cold front will move quickly east across the region through daybreak. This will usher in a much colder airmass with temperatures quickly falling below freezing.
Snow showers can be expected this morning with snow accumulations of a half inch or less possible. This will combine with the falling temperatures to produce slick spots on untreated roadways. In addition, brisk west winds will gust to 25 to 35 mph at times this morning.
The morning commute will be affected by these conditions. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick spots, especially on bridges an overpasses.

Area man shares his life with grand bird

ST. MARYS - Scooter perches gracefully on her owner's shoulder as a slight wind from Grand Lake ruffles her rainbow-colored feathers.
The green-winged macaw basks in the sun after a dip in a water fountain along East Bank State Park.

MINSTER - Councilors took the first step Tuesday night in removing the current schedule of pay steps for village employees by giving first reading to a new salary plan.
