Steven McMurray
Former St. Marys resident Steven A. McMurray, 46, of Portland, Ind., died at 9:20 p.m. Feb. 25, 2008, at his home. Death was due to an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 3, 1961, in Mercer County, to Marvin K. and Geraldine Margaret Thomas McMurray, who are both deceased.
Other survivors are his companion, Connie Truex, Portland; two sons, Ben R., Alpharetta, Ga., and Jeremy D., Celina; three daughters, Kayla J. and Katrina R., both of Miami, Fla., and Sarah R., St. Marys; a brother, Terry, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister, Kathy McMurray, Phoenix; and eight grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Stephanie; and a sister, Susan.
He was self-employed as a contractor and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Geneva. He attended Parkway High School in Rockford.
Services are 6 p.m. today at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Jim Huey officiating.
