Kathleen Desch
Kathleen A. "Kit" Desch, 83, 306 N. Elm St., Coldwater, died Feb. 28, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Coldwater, to Bernard and Cecelia Oppenheim Selhorst. On Nov. 28, 1945, she married Don P. Desch, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Tom (Sarah Putnam), Winston-Salem, N.C.; six daughters, Terra (Ken) Kuhne, Santa Fe, N.M., Julie (Micheal) Costello, Cleveland, Joni (Jeff Winget), Nashville, Tenn., Connie (John) McKay and Katie (David) Simpkins, all of Dayton, and Maggie (Dawn Anderson), East Montpelier, Vt.; a sister, Dorothy Marasco, White Plains, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers and three sisters.
She was a homemaker and co-owner of the former Don's Flowers and Gifts, Coldwater. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality and Focus Group and served as a lay distributor. She also was a member of the Mercer County Elks and had attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Ind.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Paul Desch officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater,
