Wilton Dicke
Wilton E. Dicke, 88, 4170 Dicke Road, New Bremen, died at 4:45 a.m. Nov. 7, 2007, at his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1919, near New Bremen, to Alvin and Laura Bertke Dicke. On May 22, 1947, he married Helen G. Luebkeman, who died March 5, 2005.
Survivors are four sons, Gerald (Judy), Phoenix, Ariz., Roland (Cindy) and Lee (Linda), all of New Bremen, and Randy (Karen), St. Marys; a sister, Laurie (Leon) Shaner, Celina; a sister-in-law, Lavon, New Bremen; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Ralph.
He was a farmer. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II during the European Theater, he was a member of American Legion Post 241 and its firing squad, and St. Paul United Church of Christ, all of New Bremen.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Leah Matthews officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Contributions can be made to Grand Lake Home Health and Hospice or the church's memorial fund.
