Irene Schmiesing
Irene D. Schmiesing, 79, South Lincoln Street, Minster, died at 4:15 a.m. July 1, 2007, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
She was born Dec. 3, 1927, in St. Patrick, to Joseph and Henrietta Altermatt Meyer. On June 18, 1947, she married Eugene A. Schmiesing, who died Aug. 12, 1998.
Surviving are five daughters, Diane (Ralph) Nerderman, St. Marys, Betty (Carl) Hatfield, Minster, Becky (Dan) Schloss, Sidney, Terri (Don) Huelskamp, Maria Stein, and Christine (Ted) Brandewie, Egypt; three brothers, Vernon Meyer, Fort Loramie, Lawrence "Potsy" (Helen) Meyer, McCartyville, and Joseph Meyer, Rockford; three sisters, Cleona Wyen and Viola (Maurice) Bornhorst, all of Minster, and Wilma (Bob) Ernst, Dayton; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Tony; three brothers; three sisters and one grandchild.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1391, both of Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the Heritage Manor Activity Fund.
