Johnie Butler
Johnie Henry Butler, 82, 130 S. Buckeye St., Celina, died at 2:30 p.m. July 2, 2007, at Jay County Hospital, Portland, Ind.
He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Berne, Ind., to Dewey Commodore and Frances N. Bevington Butler. He married Mattie Irene Brasher, who died May 20, 1968.
Surviving are a companion, Demarius "Mary" Ruble, Pennville, Ind.; and two sisters, Jerrie Beach, Montezuma, and Carol Lacy, Celina.
Deceased are a brother, Harold and a sister, Alvina Brandt.
He formerly worked at the foundry in Berne, Ind., and at Decatur Industries. He attended Old Country Church, Hartford City, Ind., and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Alva Daniels officiating. Burial is at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
