* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Ron Scheer
Ron G. Scheer, 54, 6758 New Bremen-New Knoxville Road, New Bremen, died at 6:15 p.m. June 26, 2007, in the emergency department at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. Cause of death was natural.
He was born June 18, 1953, in St. Marys, to James and Lucille Platfoot Scheer, who survive near Minster. On Oct. 7, 1972, he married Dorothy Phlipot, who survives near New Bremen.
Also surviving are a son, Gregg, Columbus; a daughter, Becky (Steve) Pape, New Bremen; three brothers, James (Karen), Celina, Bruce (Donna), Oklahoma, and Brad (Robin), Minster; a sister, Teresa (Ken) Harris, Colorado; and two grandchildren.
He retired from the Auglaize County Highway Department and was employed at the former New Knoxville Cement and Tile Company. He was a 1971 graduate of New Knoxville High School, was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, Minster, and the Pomeroy Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at the German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the New Bremen Emergency Squad or the American Cancer Society.
