A group of Parkway elementary students gang up on Principal Mark Esselstein to hurl water balloons at him on Friday afternoon. The event was a reward for the students in each classroom who tallied the most minutes reading during Right to Read Week at the school. Kindergarten through fifth-graders read a total of 86,812 minutes. The winning class was teacher Deb Kirby's room with a total of 7,467 minutes.
