Charles Schnarre
Charles Schnarre, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 6 p.m. April 14, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Dec. 16, 1928, in St. Marys, to Carl and Gladys Sprague Schnarre. On March 2, 1957, he married Geraldine Melcher, who survives.
Also surviving are six sons, Jim (Pam) and Thomas (Amy), all of St. Marys, and Virgil (Shellie), Donald, Carl and Joseph (Emily), all of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Joyce (Ralph) Reynolds, Wapakoneta, and Teresa (David) Kindschy, Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Robert (Jane), St. Marys; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant brother, James.
A 1948 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, he retired from Schnippel Construction Company where he was a foreman and he also was a former member of the St. Marys Police Department. He was a Korean War veteran and member of the American Legion Post 330, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445 and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie, all of Wapakoneta. He was a youth coach for football and baseball and was a past president of the Wapakoneta Athletic Boosters.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial with full military honors is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
