Andrew Homan
Andrew J. Homan, 79, 117 E. Broadway St., Fort Recovery, died at 5:35 p.m. April 14, 2007, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1927, in St. Anthony, to Gerhard and Elizabeth Curran Homan. On Nov. 19, 1949, he married Virginia Murphy Hartnagel, who died April 3, 2003.
Surviving are five sons, Stanley (Carolyn), Chickasaw, Paul (Marcia), Coldwater, Steve (Rachael), Mobile, Ala., Kevin (Diana), Oakridge, Tenn., and Mark (Ruth) St. Anthony; three daughters, Regina (Mike) Mote and Clara (Jim) Davis, all of Dayton, and Karen (Ron) Sudhoff, Garrett, Ind.; a son-in-law, Henry Forsthoff, St. Henry; 31 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Marilyn Forsthoff.
He retired from Avco New Idea, Coldwater, and as a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 345, Knights of Columbus Council 3324 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515. He was a member and lector at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial is at St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Anthony. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. The Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
