Orville Winner
Orville B. Winner, 74, 12555 Meranda Road, Anna, died at 11:45 p.m. Feb. 21, 2007, at his residence.
He was born April 30, 1932, in Fort Loramie, to Aloys and Hilda Albers Winner. On June 8, 1955, he married Esther Dirksen, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Alan (Renee), DeGraff, Ted (Jodie), Sidney, and Jay (Colleen), Lewistown; three daughters, Mary (Jim) Billing, Anna, Jane (Jon) Luthman, Botkins, and Kate (Ron) Bensman, El Dorado Hills, Calif., a brother, Jerry (Marilyn), Fort Loramie; a brother-in-law, H.Joseph Wood, Centerville; four sisters, Marlene (Bob) Sanders, Hudson, Carol (Sam) Morgan, Kettering, Virginia Thobe, Maria Stein, and Joan Tragesser, Beavercreek; 30 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Rosemary Wood; two brothers-in-law, Harold Thobe and Ken Tragesser; and a grandson.
He owned Winner Dairy Equipment and was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a graduate of Minster High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, National Farmers Organization and Knights of Columbus, all of McCartyville.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Patrick Welsh officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
