Mary Barnett
Mary R. Barnett, 94, of Spencerville, died at 9:10 a.m. Dec. 21, 2006, at Sara Jane Living Center, Delphos, where she had resided since 2000.
She was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Spencerville, to Edwin Phillip and Mary Ellen Adams Heil. On March 24, 1930, she married William L. Barnett, who died May 21, 1978.
Survivors are a son, William, Spencerville; four daughters, Ruth (Larry) Kurtz and Donna Grant, all of Spencerville, Lila (David) Place, Celina, and Linda (Sam) Limbert, Sidney; a son-in-law, Lowell Short, Spencerville; a sister, Betty Eutsler, Spencerville; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Ireta Short; two brothers, George and Roy Heil; and three sisters, Belva Suevers, Bernetta Havenar and infant, Catherine Heil.
She was a homemaker, was employed in janitorial work and local telephone office, post office and Hahn Insurance. She was a member of Spencerville First Baptist Church and its ladies aid society; Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary; and Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary, all of Spencerville.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Oran L. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a joint VFW and American Legion Auxiliary service is at 4 p.m.
Contributions can be made to the Sara Jane Activities Department or the Alzheimers Society.
