* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

George Opperman
George "Bill" Opperman, 106, of Botkins, died at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 15, 2006, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Aug. 9 , 1900, in Botkins, to John W. and Ida Eisenhut Opperman. On Oct. 8, 1932, he married Rozella Fickel, who died in 2001.
Survivors are two sons, John (Geneva), Wapakoneta, and Paul (Shirley), Jackson Center; a daughter, Alice Elson, Bradford; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Walter; a son-in-law, John Elson; and a great-grandchild.
For 29 years he was a school bus driver for Anna Schools, was self-employed as a plumbing, heating and electrical contractor, a water superintendent for the village of Kettlersville, a beekeeper and a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of the Wapakoneta Church of the Nazarene and a board member of Mount Lookout Holiness Association. He served as the site supervisor of St. Marys Nazarene Church Camp and a member of the zoning board and election board for VanBuren Township.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ward Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral home, St. Marys, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
