Frederick Luedeke
Frederick Henry Louis Luedeke, 92, 22 Haarbye St., New Bremen, died at 4:01 p.m. Oct. 28, 2006, in the emergency room at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born July 8, 1914, in New Bremen, to Alfred A.W. and Clara D. Conradi Luedeke. On Sept. 26, 1940, he married Dorothy L. Sunderman, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jonathan (Twyla), Columbus, and James (Kathleen), New Bremen; two daughters, Kathleen (Augustine) Mascaro, Nyack, N.Y., and Suzanne (Rudy) Broyles, Naperville, Ill.; a sister, Marjorie Kuck, New Knoxville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Pearl Luedeke, and a great-grandson.
He retired in 1976 from the former Stamco plant in New Bremen after more than 41 years of service and 20 years as plant superintendent. He was as a member of the New Bremen Local School board for 16 years. He was a 1932 graduate of New Bremen High School and attended the Coyne Electrical School of Chicago, earning a certificate in 1935.
He was a member of Faith Alliance Church, New Bremen, served as an elder, member of the Faith Alliance Church Governing Board, a former Sunday School teacher and member of the choir. He was a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens and New Bremen Historic Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Dean Greenwood officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the Faith Alliance Church Building Fund.
Arrangements are being handled by Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
