* WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ripley, Union and Wayne and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union and Warren.
* WHEN...From 7 PM EDT this evening through Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain will impact the area overnight. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. The heavy rain combined with saturated ground will lead to potential flash flooding.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...Until Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Vernon Fark

Vernon John Fark, 87, of St. Marys, died at 11:35 a.m. Oct. 24, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, due to heart complications.

He was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Auglaize County, to Edwin and Amanda Quellhorst Fark. His wife of 60 years, Verneda Schwabero Fark, survives.

Also surviving are two sons, John (Estelle), Marion, and Steven (Cheryl), Jackson Center; a daughter, Joyce Ann (Mark) Keller, Dayton; two sisters, Irene Berning, Botkins, and Aurelia Hirschfeld, New Bremen; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Deceased are three sisters, Lorma Scheer, Edith McMillan and Marjorie Weber.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer and graduate of New Bremen High School. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, a Moulton Township trustee and served as president of the Moulton School Board of Education.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 and American Legion Post 323, both in St. Marys; Auglaize Soil & Water Conservation; Auglaize Holstein Club; Auglaize Farm Bureau; Church Consistory; and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Contributions can be made to Agape Ministry, the church memorial fund or the American Heart Association.
