John Saddler
Former Celina resident John E. Saddler, 85, died at 7:50 a.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born June 6, 1921, to Oscar D. and Lela C. Burke Saddler. On April 4, 1953, he married Jean A. Hall, who died Feb. 10, 2006.
Survivors are a son, Gary (Betsy), Bowling Green; a daughter, Sherry (Steve) Chandler, Rock Hill, S.C.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Eugene and Robert; and a sister, Marjorie Gibbs.
He owned and operated J&J Enterprise, Celina, from 1966-2003, selling Kirby Sweepers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He graduated from Cridersville High School and attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina.
Calling is 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
