Harry Phlipot
Harry L. Phlipot, 58, of Russia, died at 6:05 a.m. Aug. 15, 2006, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 26, 1948, in Piqua, to Vern L. and Norma C. Bair Phlipot. His mother survives in Russia. On Aug. 17, 1972, he married Barbara A. Timmerman, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Scott (Rachel) and Kevin (Juliana), all of Russia; a daughter Sherri (David II) Clark, Piqua; two brothers, Robert (Deborah), Russia, and Delbert (Kathy) McCarter, Lawrence, Kan.; a brother-in-law, Thomas (Jill) Demmitt, Fletcher; father and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Emily Jean Timmerman, Fort Loramie; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Jeanette Demmitt and infant Mary; and mother-in-law, Rita Timmerman.
He was a farmer and drove a bus for Russia Local School. He had been employed at Minster Farmers Co-op, Larger Brothers Milk Transport and M.R. Phlipot Masonry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and was a 1967 graduate of Russia Local School. He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church and a past president of its parish council.
He was a member of St. Remy Catholic War Veterans Post 661, American Legion Post 217, Sidney, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 48 and was a Shelby County Veterans Services Officer. He was a past president of Shelby County Veterans Organization and Loramie Township Zoning Board.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery, Russia. Full military honors will be presented by St. Remy Catholic War veterans and Sidney American Legion.
Calling is 3-9 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
