Jeffrey Skeens
Jeffrey "Skeeter" A. Skeens, 63, of St. Marys, OH died 2:08 p.m. Sunday October 4, 2026 at Green Palms Health Care Center in St. Marys.
He was born April 17, 1963 in Louisa, KY to Ronald and Willia (Trogdlon).
Survivors include: daughter Amanda Skeens of Cridersville, OH; bonus daughters: Crystal (Dan) Cooper, Brooke Slaven; grandchildren and bonus grandchildren: Laine Makar, Ginger Skeens, Chareli, Corbyn; sister Ronda (Jeff) Moore of St. Marys, OH; brother Charlie (Lisa) Skeens of St. Marys, OH; and extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins.
Preceded in death by: parents Ronald and Willia Skeens; daughter Tara Skeens (2025); and former spouse Wendy Place.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1982). Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed by the St. Marys Foundry Co. Jeff was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in 1989, resulting in months of hospitalization and rehabilitation.
His favorite pastimes included shooting pool, playing card games, fishing, deer hunting, watching auto racing and spending countless hours at the Friendly Tavern. An avid sports fan, he especially rooted for the University of Michigan Wolverines (GO BLUE) and the Pittsburgh Steelers football teams.
Despite his rough exterior, "Skeeter" possessed an abundance of charm that made him a favorite with the staff of hospitals, rehabilitation centers and the nursing home.
Jeff's favorite quote was, "I'm a changed individual!"
Rites are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday October 9, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.
Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
