John G. "Bright Eyes" Arnold, age 84 of Celina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at his residence in Celina.

He was born on October 13, 1941 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Harold W. and Freda (Brusfuld) Arnold.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Smith) Butcher-Arnold, who lives at their residence in Celina. He is also survived by his stepchildren; Joe (Karen) Bennett, Cathy (William) Vondrell, Randy (Cindy) Bennett, Jane Patterson & Bob Risher, Jeff (Cherie) Butcher, all of Celina, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. John is survived by his brothers Bill (Jane) Arnold of Fairborn, Mike (Sue) Arnold of Reynoldsburg & Dave (Marilyn) Arnold of Celina.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his first wife Louise A. (Roesner) Bennett and his stepsons Fred (Judy) Bennett & Greg (Mary) Bennett.

John graduated from the Piqua High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve for several years. He retired as an independent telephone cable splicer. He was a member of the Celina V. F. W. Post #5713, the Celina American Legion Post #210 and of the National Hot Rod Association. John enjoyed drag racing his car, watching NASCAR racing, deer hunting, fishing on Grand Lake & watching the Ohio State Buckeyes play football.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Josh Tissot officiating. Burial will follow in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina, with Military Honors preformed by the Celina American Legion Post #210 and the Celina V. F. W. Post #5713.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
