Jean Mueller
Jean Ann (Koesters) Mueller, age 81, of North Street, Osgood, passed away peacefully of natural causes Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2026, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio.
She was born January 14, 1945, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Leonard & Marie (Post) Koesters. On June 11, 1966, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Wendelin, Jean married Elmer Mueller who preceded her in death on September 1, 2024.
Surviving are four children: Tony & Tracey Mueller of Yorkshire, Jill & Eric Winner of Yorkshire, Cory & Lisa Mueller of Yorkshire and Jodi & Jon Sawmiller of Maria Stein; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 10 of 12 siblings: Jim Koesters of Dayton, Bill & Kathy Koesters of Carthagena, Charlene & Lou Grieshop of Fort Recovery, Kathy & Roger Broerman of Fort Recovery, Mike & Jane Koesters of London, Nick & Darlene Koesters of Wendelin, Judy & Jack Gaerke of St. Peter, Steve & Joyce Koesters of St. Henry, Mary Kay & Matt Cahill of St. Henry, Frank & Diana Koesters of Wendelin and brothers & sisters-in-law: Gerald "Hap" Brunswick of Anna, Dave Rammel of Sharpsburg, Paul & Elaine Mueller of New Weston, Betty Bertke of Coldwater, Carl & Lois Mueller of Fort Loramie, Bill & Nancy Mueller of St. Henry, Nancy Mueller of Cassella, Linda & Wayne Bowers of Yorkshire, Mike & Donna Mueller of New Bremen and Marge & Rick DeMange of Osgood along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step father, Paul Ranley; two sisters, Joan Brunswick and Beck Rammel as well as sisters & brothers-in-law: Pat Koesters, Stan Bertke, Kenneth Mueller and Fred Mueller.
Jean was a 1963 graduate of St. Henry High School and a 1966 graduate of the former Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Dayton. In 2008, she retired from the State of Ohio Department of Health where she had been employed as a registered nurse for 15 years. She was previously employed for many years as the director of nursing at several local long term care facilities. She began her nursing career at the former Gibbons Hospital in Celina. Jean was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she had been a choir member, CCD instructor, lecturer and Eucharistic distributor. She also belonged to the St. Barbara Ladies Sodality. Jean enjoyed singing and listening to music. Years ago, she would often play the accordion. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially poker (for the past 63 years) with the St. Henry girl's "forever friends" card club.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Monday, September 7, 2026, at St. Nicholas Church in Osgood with Rev. Ned Brown presiding. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Sunday, 2:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.   
Memorials may be made to St Peter Neurological Center of Burkettsville or Everheart Hospice.
