Linda Fortkamp
Linda L. Fortkamp, age 74, of New Bremen, died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2:25 P.M. at the Chesterwood Senior Living in West Chester, Ohio. She was born on June 26, 1952 to the late Ralph A. and Eileen M. (Perin) Boerger. On February 24, 1973, she married Ralph E. Fortkamp in New Bremen, and together they shared 31 years of marriage before his sudden death on March 16, 2004.
Linda is survived by her sons: Scott (Amy) Fortkamp of Cincinnati and Robb (Nichole) Fortkamp of Springboro; her five grandchildren: Luke, Henry, Pete, Vince, and Lucy; and her sister Connie (Rick) Hoelscher of New Bremen.
Linda was a 1970 graduate of New Bremen High School. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. She had worked for the Village of New Bremen as a Clerk for more than 30 years. She had been a proud supporter of Cardinal athletics and the New Bremen Athletic Boosters. Linda served in ticket sales at Cardinal football games for many years. She enjoyed the neighbors and the time that they spent together. The friend group, Penny Droppers, got together monthly, and played various games. She and her friends enjoyed taking in a show, and traveling. Linda was a faithful servant, always enjoying life throughout her daily activities. She found peace and relaxation listening to audio books on her drives to Cincinnati and Springboro. Linda especially enjoyed watching the grandkids sporting events.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Thursday July, 30, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, with Rev. Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. A private family interment will take place in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and again on Thursday July 30, 2026, one hour prior to the services at the Church of the Holy Redeemer.
To honor Linda's vibrant personality, attire in bright and cheerful colors are encouraged for the visitation and services. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family encourages memorial contributions in Linda's memory to the New Bremen/German Township Fire Department or New Bremen Emergency Squad. Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home of New Bremen is assisting the family during this time.
