The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Alma Kissinger
Alma Appoline (Subler) Kissinger, 106 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2026, at Village Green Health Campus, Greenville, Ohio. Alma was born November 22, 1919, in Brock, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Henry and Laura (Barga) Subler.
Alma attended Brock Elementary School; she was a farm wife for over 50 years and worked at Delco in Dayton and Buckeye Overall. She was the oldest living member of St. Denis Catholic Church.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Owen Kissinger whom she married February 25, 1941; her grandson, Dan Kissinger; her siblings, Opal Gigandet, Alfred Subler, Edith Grogean, Ruth Monnin, Marion Subler, Bernard Subler, and Cyril Subler.
Alma is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Ed and Barbara Kissinger of Versailles, and John and Donna Kissinger of Versailles; her grandchildren, Bryan (Tami Taylor) Kissinger, Kevin (Mindy) Kissinger, Lynn (Matthew) Fondelier; her great grandchildren, Owen Kissinger, Mallory York, Danica York, and Samuel Fondelier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday July 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
