Celina man dies after motorcycle accident

From staff reports
A 23-year-old Celina man died Wednesday afternoon after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Indiana Avenue in St. Marys.
The St. Marys police and fire departments responded to the incident at the intersection of Kishler Street and Indiana Avenue at around 1:24 p.m. Wednesday, a news release from police chief Lucas Turpin states.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Parker Wiechart was operating a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Kishler Street crossing the intersection with Indiana Avenue, per the release. While crossing through the intersection, Wiechart reportedly lost control of his motorcycle causing the rear tire of the motorcycle to strike a curb on Kishler Street, which in turn threw Wiechart off the motorcycle.
Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, per the release. He was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
