Martha Horton
Martha Kay Horton, 79, of Saint Marys, Ohio, died suddenly at 9:36 A.M. Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Grand Lake Health System Family Practice in Maria Stein.
She was born May 25, 1947, in York Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (Beldon) Schmidt.
She is survived by her son, Chris Horton of Saint Marys; by her grandchildren: Neal Schmidt of Celina; Corie (Brian) Woesner of Richmond, Indiana; Jeremiah (Nikki) Schmidt of Mendon; by 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; by her siblings Ed Schmidt of Canada; Marceil Schmidt of Celina; Dan Schmidt of Berne, Indiana; Jane Dailey of Berne, Indiana;
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter, Jodia Schmidt Long; by her siblings: Carolyn Roberts; Larry Schmidt; Ruth Kinney; Pat Schmidt; Richard Schmidt; Junior Schmidt.
Martha worked for many years in housekeeping services, cleaning homes for families in the area.
She was a member of the former Victory Chapel United Brethren Church in Celina.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 noon Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be made to Martha's family.
