Mary Clapp
Mary Louise Clapp, born April 16, 1940, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 86.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband of 39 years, Newman Clapp; her parents, John and Pearl Ross; her sister, Elaine; her brother, George; and her son-in-law, Bobby Koishor.
Mary's legacy lives on through her loving family, including her daughter, Joetta Koishor; her son, Mark Wolfe (Lori); her grandchildren, Ryan Muhlenkamp, Erin Bercot (Brandon), Andrew Muhlenkamp, and Megan Salberg (Matt); and her great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Kaden, and Kaylee Bercot, and Sadie Quinn Salberg; Siblings and (spouses) Ruth Damron, John Ross (Nancy), (Sybil Ross), Teresa Hatfield (Troy), Tom Ross (Kylie), Donna Motika (Michael), Ronda Davis (Marc), Byard Ross (Kathy), Eddie Ross; and nieces and nephews. She also warmly welcomed Newman's and Bobby's extended families into her life as her own.
After graduating from LaMonte High School in Missouri in 1958, Mary moved to Indiana, where she lived with family members while working at Jay Garment. It was there that she met the father (Joe Wolfe) of her children. She later raised her family in Ridgeville, Indiana, and worked at the local elementary school. Mary was deeply committed to her community and faith.
She was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than five decades across Indiana and Ohio and maintained a 60-year membership with Woman's Life in Indiana. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Celina, Ohio, and participated in the Purple Door Pacers. Mary also dedicated her time to volunteering weekly at Mercer County Hospital and faithfully served the Mercer County Election Board.
A woman of many talents, Mary found great joy in baking and in creating beautiful crocheted pieces for family and friends. Mary was spiritually grounded and demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout her life, including courageously overcoming two battles with melanoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be held at MJS Mortuaries - Ridgeville Chapel on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Celina, Ohio. Visitation from 10-11 a.m., followed by Church services at 11, officiated by Pastors Dale Schaeffer and Tom Hopkins. Arrangements entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Ridgeville Chapel.
