Joyce Meyer
Joyce E. Meyer, 71, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 3, 1954, in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Paul and Stella (Siefring) Mangen. On June 5, 1972, she married James D. Meyer, who survives at their home in Celina.
Joyce was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina.
She is survived by her children: Max Meyer of Titusville, Florida; Rex (Rita) Meyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Elizabeth (Richard) Standiford of Celina; and Mary "KT" Vanover of Celina. She is also survived by her siblings: Kenny (Jean) Mangen of Tipp City, Richard Mangen of Eaton, John (Pat) Mangen of Celina, Charline Shell of Loveland, Lois Swoverland of Fort Wayne, Linda Moore of Wapakoneta, and Dr. Mary Mangen of Toledo.
Joyce is further survived by her grandchildren: Richie, Lizy, Rey, Jade, Ada, Julia, Iden, Kory, and Stella; and her great-grandchildren: Sonny and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Jeff Cochran and Ben Vanover; a grandson, Gideon Standiford; two brothers, Ron and Charles Mangen; and four brothers-in-law, Jerry Shell, Steve Swoverland, Wayne Moore, and Dan Meyer.
Joyce was a 1972 graduate of Coldwater High School. She later earned an associate degree in Graphics from Wright State University-Lake Campus in Celina. She began her career at Huffy Bicycles in Celina in 1973, where she worked for 25 years until its closure. She later retired from Reynolds and Reynolds in 2016 after 11 years of service. In addition, Joyce served her community as an EMT with Mercer County EMS Squad 5 and as a member of the Mendon Village Council.
Joyce had a deep love for her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and visits to Florida. Known for her compassionate heart, Joyce often took in stray animals-and even people-who needed help. She believed strongly in kindness, equality, and human rights, living by the conviction that all people matter.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and were touched by her life.
A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Fr. Robert Muhlenkamp officiating.
Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
