John Hawk
John A. Hawk, age 81, of Rockford passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.
John was born on September 23, 1944, in Celina, Ohio to his parents the late George (Rex) Hawk and Wanda (Ethel) Bollenbaugh Hawk.
John is survived by his wife Beverly (Wurster) Hawk whom he married on October 10, 1964. Also surviving are his children; Carrie (Terry) Ketchum of Rockford and Todd Hawk of Willshire; five grand children: Jeff (Bobbie) Ketchum of Rockford; Talyor (Sarah) Hawk of Ossian, IN.; Megan Ketchum of Clarksville, TN.; Kandyce Hawk of Decatur, IN.; Cole (Kayla) Ketchum of Rockford; step grandchild, Sherry (Nick) Grier of Rockford; seven great grandchildren: Colin, Makayla & Parker Ketchum; Paisley, Piper & Theodori Hawk; Raegan Ketchum & Kilyr Grier. Also surviving are two sisters Lucretia (John) Fritzinger & Peg Williams.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; Rex & Ethel Hawk and his in-laws Willard & Ruth Wurster. A sister Nancy (Hawk) Jenkins and a brother- in law, Ben Williams, brother and sister- in- law Doyle & Charlene Ballinger.
He worked many years for Hawk Construction of Celina, OH; New Idea of Coldwater, OH; Strict Corporation of Monroe, IN; & Thunder Bird Products of Decatur, IN; for his factory career, all while hauling grain for many farmers in the area & being a life long farmer himself. He enjoyed seeing the country when he drove truck. Fishing trips with his wife; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed attending car shows to display his 1949 Studebaker pick up that he proudly helped restore.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio at 10:00 a.m.
