Bruce Combs
Bruce Combs, 90, of, St Marys, Ohio, passed away Friday January 30, at St. Ritas Medical Center,Lima, Ohio. He was born December 11, 1935, in Vest, Kentucky, the son of Bryan and Madge (Huff) Combs.
He is survived by his son Bryan (Kim) Combs, Somerset, Kentucky by his stepchildren, Joni (Craig) Huwer of St. Marys, Gregg (Kathy) Dieringer of St. Marys, Mike Dieringer of St. Marys and Julie Dieringer of St. Marys.
He is survived by 2 grandchildren: Michael (Noell) Combs, Jennifer (Ernest) Wilcher; by 11 step grandchildren: Shaun Kennedy and Stephanie Zarack, Elisha Norton and Kristi Rush, Mark Dieringer, Scott Dieringer, Jill Verbryke, Andy Dieringer, Kyle Dieringer, Amy Huber and Chase Dunlap; by 4 great grandchildren, 30 step great grandchildren and 8 step- great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his niece Belinda Goodwin and nephew Randy (Jody) Gibson.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, previous spouse Donna L Fisher, and his wife Barbara J Combs and step daughter Vicki Kennedy; by four sisters: Clarinda Combs, Irema Campbell, Jessie Mae Gibson, Alma Collins and two brothers, John S. Combs and Arvel Lee Combs.
Bruce moved to St. Marys from Knott County Ky. in the 1950's. He worked at various industries in the area, as well as a business owner of Combs' Carry-Out, St. Marys Lumber and Varsity Lanes bowling alley. Bruce was also heavily involved in the Business/Residential Construction, design and sales.
His post retirement years consisted of driving for the Auglaize Council of Aging. He especially enjoyed seeing the entire US, delivering motor homes with his good friend Gene Tuttle and reclining in his chair with his lil buddy Toby. Bruce also enjoyed helping raise Emilee as his daughter for her first 9 years and attending her soccer games as frequently as he could.
Funeral rites will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
