Roger Watercutter
We mourn the passing of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Roger Watercutter. Roger was 83 years old and passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2025.
Roger was born on February 10, 1942, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Edward and Rose Watercutter. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his siblings: Thelma (Hugo) Meyer, Edward Watercutter, Robert Watercutter, James (Theda) Watercutter, and Mildred (Lester) Huelskamp.
Roger graduated from Anna High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966. He married Ella Mae Schmitmeyer on October 10, 1964, who survives.
Roger is survived by his five children: Lisa (Alastair) Warr of Indianapolis, IN; Julia O'Connor of Carmel, IN; David (Margaret) Watercutter, Pamela (Anthony) Stureman, and Maria (Cory) Leeper, all of Ft. Wayne, IN. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Marlene (Maurice) Brunswick.
A respected wealth management professional, Roger founded Watercutter Financial in 1982. He dedicated his career to guiding others with wisdom, integrity, and a steady, compassionate presence throughout the Midwest.
Roger was a devoted husband and father, remembered as a kind soul, gentle in spirit, and an unwavering support to family, friends, and clients. His deep Catholic faith shaped the way he lived, offering a foundation of humility, gratitude, and service that touched many lives. He will be remembered for his warm heart and quiet strength.
Roger was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church; St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Siesta Key, FL; and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served as president of the Investment Club in 1994. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play high school and college sports, and relaxing in Siesta Key, FL, during his retirement years.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable loss, his legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to guide those who knew him. Dad, you will be missed; rest in God's eternal peace.
Visitation will be held at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 47648, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 2-6:00pm.
Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 10-11:00am at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN, 46825.
A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of life will follow immediately at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church Fund.
