Park project nearly done
Submitted Photo

The junior construction class at Tri Star Career Compact finished a 24-foot by 36-foot shelter house in mid-October after a new playground with surrounding fencing was installed over the summer at West Bank Park. The facility also includes an adult swing that serves as a memorial to Milt Miller, who did much for the lake and for lake restoration efforts over the years. After some final additions this month, LIA hopes to hold a ribbon-cutting before the end of the year. Along with the Grand Lake Recreation Club, which spearheaded the shelter house effort, Lake Improvement Association president Brian Morris said more than 25 businesses and organizations made contributions to the project.
