Urban Schroeder
Urban Bernard Schroeder, age 88, of Schlater Road, Fort Loramie, passed away peacefully of natural causes Wednesday afternoon, September 3, 2025, at Wilson Health Hospital in Sidney, Ohio.
He was born September 17, 1936, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Frank & Emma (Holscher) Schroeder. Surviving are several cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Schroeder.
Mr. Schroeder was a 1954 graduate of Fort Loramie High School and had been engaged in farming all of his working life. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a past member of St. Joseph Men's Sodality. In his leisure, he enjoyed grooming the home-place and tending the flower beds. Years ago, Urban had been an avid basketball player. He played on the High School team and continued with 12 years of intramurals.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. John W. Tonkin presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to Glenmary Home Missioners or St. Vincent DePaul.
