Roger Evers
Roger W. Evers, age 69, of rural Celina, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 24, 2025.
He was born on February 1, 1956, in Celina, to the late Gregor and Marian (Schmitmeyer) Evers. Roger was a 1974 graduate of St. Henry High School and dedicated his life to farming, specializing in grain and hog production. He was a proud member and past president of the Mercer County Pork Producers.
Roger is survived by his four sons, Ryan Evers of Columbus, Josh (Stacy) Evers of Celina, Justin (Amy) Evers of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jordan (Kristen) Evers of Royal Oak, Michigan. He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Sam, Georgi, Simon, Ava, Emma, Peyton, and Cameron. He is also survived by his siblings, Bill (Ruth) Evers of Coldwater, Donna (Gary) Moeller of Cassella, Cindy Snyder of Celina, Therese (Chuck) Alt of Crestline, Lester Evers of St. Wendelin, and Vicki (Bill) Homan of Noblesville, Indiana.
Roger was known for his strong work ethic, warm personality, and deep love for his family and the land he farmed. He found joy in simple pleasures-riding his ranger, sitting around a campfire in the woods, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed card club with his cousins, boating and camping with family, and was an avid fan of western movies.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Craig Flack officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Evers family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, care, and support shown to them during this difficult time.
