* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Michael Gehm
Michael Leo Gehm, age 72, of Celina, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born June 15, 1952 in Celina, to Robert & Ruth E. (Shively) Gehm. Mike's biological father passed away when he was just 6 months old. His mother later married Byron R. Jenkins, and they also preceded Mike in death.
Mike was married to the late Margie Meeds Gehm for 30 years. Their son and daughter survive: Michael Gehm of Celina and Melissa Gehm (Daryl Connolly) of Rockford, as well as 3 grandchildren: Dustin Gehm, Isaac Connolly, and Noah Connolly, a great grandchild: Paige Gehm, and a brother and sister: James (Bianka "Bink") Jenkins and Brenda (Fred) Severt of Celina.
Mike recently met the love of his life, Maria Hainline, who survives along with her 3 children: Elizabeth Hainline, Isaac Hainline, and Evelyn Hainline, and numerous grandchildren.
A 1970 graduate of Celina High School, Mike, known as "Huffy Mike" or "Slim" worked at the Huffy Bicycle plant in Celina for decades. After retirement, he ran a bicycle shop out of his home. Mike never knew a stranger, and always had a story to share. He was a giving person and would help anyone. Mike was a member of the Mercer County Sportsmen's Assn., and enjoyed hunting ducks and deer. He also was known for growing beautiful flowers at his home and spent much time working in his flower beds. Mike liked to attend classic car and bicycle shows and swap meets. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially family cookouts.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 18, at W.H. Dick & Sons- Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, followed by a graveside service at St. Paul's Country Church Cemetery in rural Rockford.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
