Jeffery Wenning
Jeffery J Wenning, 68, of Coldwater, OH died May 9, 2025, surrounded by family after losing his 1.5 year battle with Ocular Melanoma. Jeff was born September 25, 1956 in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Francis and Valanda (Heitkamp) Wenning. He married Cindy A. Gross on August 4, 1979 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, Ohio.
She survives along with his children: Katie (Derek) Fullenkamp of Cincinnati, Kendra (Andrew) Snyder of Piqua, and Alex (Colette) Wenning of Wapakoneta. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: James Fullenkamp, Hayden Fullenkamp, Palmer Fullenkamp, Lincoln Snyder, and Ryan Snyder; siblings and in-laws: Curt Wenning, Orlando, FL, Mike (Marty) Wenning, Whitesburg, KY, Kevin (Tina) Wenning, Coldwater, OH, Carol (Mike) Brookhart, Coldwater, OH, Dan Gross, Coldwater, OH, mother-in-law: Alfreda Gross, Coldwater, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff was also preceded in death by his father-in-law: Vincent Gross and sister-in-law: Cindy L. Wenning.
Jeff graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1974. He then graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Jeff worked as Production Planning Manager and retired from Minster Machine after 45 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association, and Mercer County Sportsman's Association. Jeff was an avid hunter, carpenter, repairman, car mechanic, and cyclist. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards, nature walks, and driving his corvette. Coldwater High School football, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Browns were also dear to him.
Jeff loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He helped with his children's house remodeling projects and attended many of his grandchildren's events.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Briarwood Village and Everheart Hospice. Their wonderful care, love and support for Jeff was deeply appreciated.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday May 16th, 2025 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater, with Fr. Ethan Moore celebrant. Lunch will be served in the Church basement immediately after the mass. Burial with immediate family will follow at a later date in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7pm Thursday May 15th, 2025 and from 9-10 am on Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
